Response to COVID-19
As the official Public Health Emergency (PHE) came to an end on May 11th 2023 it impact how tele-health is treated by some insurance companies. This is still evolving and we are doing our best to stay on top of it, but if you are utilizing tele-health, we advise you to ask your insurer about coverage or reimbursement.
We made the decision as a clinic to transition to seeing clients via tele-therapy beginning in March 2020. This was at the same time as our landlord closed our building to the public and the “Stay at Home” order went into effect. It lasted far longer than anyone predicted or hoped. We have extended offering tele-therapy for everyone’s safety. We are currently seeing a mix of in person and virtual clients. We make those decisons together with our clients based on each person’s physical and mental health and other factors. We will ask you to review and agree to health guidelines if you are being seen in person. We remain available to our clients by tele-therapy or telephone. We use a HIPAA compliant platform to connect virtually that you can connect to through our website through our EHR. In order to use this platform, you need to be signed up to access your secure portal through TherapyNotes. If you have not done so, please contact your clinician about signing up for portal access.
We are also aware of how difficult this isolation is for many of our clients. We are seeing many clients via tele-therapy sessions and know it is not the same. We know being unable to access your usual support systems is very difficult. We encourage you to reach out to others in whatever safe ways you can- phone, FaceTime, email, virtually. We will list resources below as we find them. This is a crucial time for self care for all of us and self-care does not end with physical self-care. We want to be physically and emotionally healthy through this pandemic.
Stay well and be in touch- as one of our favorite pod-casters says- “stay well, take care of yourself and, if you can, someone else.”
